About Joyce Baran

Joyce Baran is an authority on intimate apparel, having appeared as an industry spokeswoman on numerous television shows including Hard Copy, Joan Rivers on QVC, Entertainment Tonight and A&E Network’s Unmentionables…A Brief History.

Her frequent in-store appearances, seminars and corporate presentations cover topics such as the history of lingerie ‘From Corsets to Consciousness’, marketing to women and building confidence through fashion that works.

A groundbreaking designer in the world of intimate apparel, Joyce spent more than 20 years in roles of increasing responsibility at Warnaco, where she received a patent for the first-ever bra design with movement engineering.

After a stint at Ithaca Industries, Joyce moved to Smoothie/Strouse Adler, where, as vice president of merchandising and design, she tripled sales and led the company through its acquisition by Sara Lee.

Joyce went on to create the Liz Claiborne Intimates Collection as vice president of merchandising and design at Jockey International, before returning to Warnaco, where she developed identities for the Olga and Warner brands.
